INTRODUCTION

Pg.1

Statement of the Problem

Topic: Covid 19 Pandemic

Unfortunately in the world illnesses are the most unpredictable and vague occurrences to grace the land. Covid 19 is from a large group of viruses classed as (SARS) Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, giving it an edge in its ability to spread from person to person easily through the air. It is then easy to foresee that largely populated counties would stand no chance. Due to the viruses genetic it is easily false diagnosed with the common flu. From bad to worse Jamaica though not a large not a large countries has all the listed and more.

Adding to the above Jamaica has a tourism dependent economy, stubborn locals and poor medical infrastructure. Jamaica faces many challenges as it relates to containment and isolation of infected individuals but as with all viruses there’s a caught. A person can be infected and not show any symptom up to 14days which means schools, business, churches and health sectors will all struggles to find out does with and who does without infecting or becoming infected every day.

Speaking of stubborn as a Jamaican from my experience listening to the News, Rumours, Broadcasted and Reports around, Jamaicans fail to co-operate with the anti covid 19 regulations put in place by the government; such as no washing of the hand, not adjusting to the 6’ft apart rule, not wearing masks properly, not using hand sanitisers with over 70% percent alcohol in it and also not covering their mouths or noses when coughing or sneezing.

Method of Investigation

To investigate this problem I have selected reasonable questions in a questionnaire in order to pull out certain information to get information for this project.

The online survey has many advantages, these include:

  • Cost efficient as the journalist won’t need to purchase stationary.

  • Is easily accessible from home.

  • Free of cost to users.

  • Is easily navigable.

  • Online assistance is made available for less technologically clinical.

Instruments used for Data Collection

To investigate the given topic I most organize and create a selective questionnaire for my recordings. Due to the pandemic a printed questioner would more dangerous so I’ve opted to work with an app company to make it easier.

People from the island can fill out this digital document from the comfort of their homes.

The questionnaire will consist of empathic question and there reason and what the government can do to help in the fight for normality.

My reason for using a digital questionnaire is for a number of advantages:

  • It is easily accessible online via the internet.

  • It’s guaranteed confidential since persons aren’t required to type their names.

Procedure used to collect data

Using the power of targeted digital advertise and the statistic that majority of people spend day on the electronic devices anywhere from 8-13 hours daily. For those who don’t meet this criteria I’ve prepare radio advertisement. Radio advertisement will be requested as voluntary work from popular station whom have a broad varying listen base.

New people will be found and instructed to log on and compete the questionnaire for a better tomorrow. I’m confident that the positive message of the opportunity to help in the fight for renormalization is assured.

100% of all local have been affected in some way, shape or form, thus leading me to expect rapid growth after launch.

Analysis of Data and Interpretation of Data

Pg.11

Statement of Findings

After analysis of my allocated data I’ve come to some findings, these include:

The main reason for the increasing level of covid 19 in the community is the lack of sanitization taken in the household, when interacting or out in the public.

The main problem faced by persons in the community is their inability to provide adequate cash to get supplies to prevent covid 19, which accounts for ninety

Percent (77%)

In order to reduce the problems faced, 83% of the respondents stated that the government

Should provide more online employment opportunities for the residents as well as providing safety supplies for covid 19 in communities.

Pg.12

Recommendations

As it stands covid is still highly active and there is a spilt between the adhering and the defying amounts of persons taking covid 19 seriously.

My recommendations are as followed:

  • A distribution of safety supplies to the community: I think that it would help the community a lot by providing some supplies as in masks and sanitizers on a monthly so that persons in the community can have some help in preventing symptoms of covid 19. It would be a huge help in communities and for families that can’t afford to get supplies to stay safe on a day to day basis.

  • More Law enforcement’s during the curfews: I believe that hiring more law enforcement’s to keep persons in line during daily curfews can help lower the spread of covid 19. Keeping them indoors and safe than outside frolicking and interacting with persons after hours could help a lot. When persons see more enforcement’s on the grounds they will adhere to the rules of the government for this pandemic and stay indoors safe with their families from harm’s way.

  • Giving persons a reason to stay at home- I think giving persons stuff to do to keep them occupied while having fun in their home could help slow down the spread of covid 19. for example having more online work opportunities available, for persons who like to go out and party, they could join online parties, better online fun schooling for students who find online school boring and want to go out and socialize and miss classes instead, make the classes fun where they would be exited to come back. Further my examples of giving persons a reason to stay home. Finding fun yet constructive ways to keep persons occupied enough where they can stay closer to their families
