The Rock Public Relations Group (RPRG), LLC

Scenario #1: You are a graduate of Wilson College with a degree in business management and a member of the team at RPRG. You and your team at the RPRG have completed several successful and highly-acclaimed projects with several clients that have received industry-wide recognition for their creativity and design. The newly-hired director of your department now wants your team to work on a very special project for one of the leading banks in the local area. BB&T is trying to establish a relationship with four (4) local universities and colleges (Shippensburg, Penn State-Mont Alto, Wilson College, and Dickinson) to assist students with: low-interest college loans, car loans, credit cards, and personal loans during and after graduation. BB&T has hired RPRG to develop an “initial storyboard” that includes a potential marketing strategy to introduce the “Student-loan financial concept” to the respective institutions of higher learning. Using Table 14.3/P.454 as your team’s frame-of-reference, create a 7-8 slide storyboard with your team’s “design titles/key points”. (15 pts)

Scenario #2: You and your team have just been assigned a key project that has the attention of the CEO of RPRG. Upon completion of the initial brainstorming and formatting meeting for your project, the CEO wants to personally review your “Draft presentation outline of the key components for developing the grant proposal” before you introduce it to the client for their approval. Project: Wilson College has hired RPRG to develop a grant proposal to support academic research in the field of veterinary medicine. The grant request will be for $2.5M to explore more advanced-care pathways and virtual-treatment pathologies for large farm animals (such as cows, horses, donkeys, and bison). The grant is a 5-year federally-funded program. Describe and identify the “key proposal components” that should be included in your proposal development/presentation plan to Wilson College and the CEO. (15 pts)

Scenario #3: Your Communication’s team supervisor at RPRG called you and your team into her office and stated that she received an immediate request from one of RPRG’s biggest clients. Apparently, the client is hosting a multi-campus student workshop on “Career Opportunities and Internships” at the John L. Grove Business College at Shippensburg University and the presenting firm had to cancel at the last minute. Your task is to develop and deliver the presentation on Wednesday, December 7th at 9AM in the Luhrs Center located on the Shippensburg main campus. The title of the presentation is “The Principles of Effective Resumes. Describe “the key steps that you would utilize in researching, planning and delivering” this presentation. (15 pts)

Scenario 4: You are interviewing for a position at RPRG as a new intern and during the interview session, the HR Director of RPRG asked you the following 2 questions: 1.) “Describe 3-4 attributes that you think will make you value-added to the RPRG team as an intern and “potential new-hire”?” and 2.) “Describe to us using the S-T-A-R method an example of your leadership ability or an example of your overcoming a challenge sometime during your student life at Wilson College.” Answer both questions. (15 pts)

Scenario 5: Your Communication’s team supervisor wants you to prepare a professional development class for the team to be given this week at the “weekly scheduled team get-to-together” in the RPRG conference room. The topic is on “How to Apply the General Rules of Chart Formatting” The supervisor tells you that she is expecting great things from this class since you had a business communications class at Wilson College. Prepare a 5-6 slide power point presentation that you will use for your class. (10 pts)
