The assignment is to choose an advertisement that makes a claim.

I have chosen an advertisement “Apple Cider Vinegar Pills: Health claims and evidence.


Next, we are to research this claim. Look into the company making the claim and any biases that are in play when companies make these claims. For example, is the company's research funded by a source that can add to the bias.


Be sure to apply the same type of criteria, as seen in Figure 2.7, image is attached, to determine whether this is Good Science or Pseudoscience.

Answer the following questions.

1. Do the claims makes sense based on what you know of the product? Why or Why not?

2. Check the source of the claims. Are there commercial interests or interest groups involved in making the claims?

3. What are the credentials of the person(s) making the claim? Do they have an agenda, bias, or will they make money?

4. Do you think there is strong support for the claims made?
