Primark's Business Process and systems

Primark's Business Process and Systems

Part 1

  1. Essential Components for 'effective business operations management

Primark is a multinational retailing company in the UK that tends to offer the newest beauty, fashion, and hardware at the most appropriate value on the high street, but merely, innovative fashion at incredible prices. The commercial's operational functions are considered an overarching map or plan for the commercial (Ortega, 2017). The essential components for the efficacious management of the operations for Primark's operations within the UK and also deliver support in creating the customer value are discussed below;

Development of Creativity

The development of creativity is considered the most unique and essential component that comprises the operations management of Primark. This tends to allow the business of Primark to deliver innovative facilities to the civilization that comprises the broad range of the services, techniques of the production, and the ways that comprises, the distribution and actions of providing facilities.

Assigning the roles and responsibilities

After the development of the plan of creation, that essential component for the business of Primark is assigning roles and responsibilities. The operations of the business are the method or the process through which the roles and responsibilities are assigned to the distinct entity of the commercial (Greasley, 2019).

Management of internal communication

The management of the business operations also comprises the management of Internal. The management of internal communication tends to deliver support to Primark's commercial to certify that the specialization associated with the operations of Primark does not compromise the qualities that comprise the ability of the company to operate as a unit.

Management of Resources

The management of the assets of Primark's operations is also a critical component for the operational management of its business. The operations of the business are highly concerned with the evaluation of the precise balance of expenditure with the significant sort of quantity and type of technology and equipment that put the operations of the business at their best (Brassey & Christensen, 2019).

Certification of compliance

Operations of the business also tend to evaluate that the employees are conforming to the principal values and guidelines with the company. Operations of the commercial are considered as the vehicle through which these chief rules and regulations of Primark can be implemented in a balanced way for the entities of the organization.

  1. Issues for Primark Commercial (By using software systems methodology)

As the company is only having retail stores and does not offer a hybrid model that includes an online business facility. When Primark will choose to implement this hybrid model it must have to face certain issues. Those Issues are demonstrated for the commercial operations of Primark through the utilization of the software systems methodology. These issues might be faced by the Primark Organization if the company decides to introduce hybrid facilities to allow their consumers to endure shopping within the stores, as well as online orders of the goods. These issues of Primark's commercial are as follows;

Investment in the advertisements

Suppose Primark allows its consumers to facilitate through its services on the online platforms. For this purpose, the company has to invest in social media platforms for the advertisement that will deliver information on the vast level and quickly to its consumers that Primark is involved in delivering online facilities (Ucar, 2017).

Development of the websites on social media

The next issue will be making its services online it must make a website good enough to properly managed the online dealing. For this purpose company also have to invest in some of the best web developers to develop the best website on which its customers will visit and give orders.

Choosing the right technology and partners

To initiate online business, the company of Primark has to attain and use the most advanced technology, which can bring efficiency in the practices and operations of the commercial. For this purpose, the company has to make partners and investments for technology advancements.

Cost implications (in the distribution of the services)

Primark offers amazing and appropriate prizes for the best services. The costs of the company will be impacted at a huge level by putting its services online. It is because commercials will take orders online through different areas and have to distribute these services in distinct areas by hiring the employees to manage the delivery of orders along with technology implications. Such distribution may vary to prove very costly to Primark's commercial (Nyame-Asiamah & Ghulam, 2019).

Four Vs of business

Four Vs comprise the commercial of Primark that also tends to ensure the efficiency of operations of Primark and the value of its customers for it, which includes volume, variety, variation, and visibility. The sustainment of these four Vs that comprise the business model of Primark can prove very costly. It is because the company has to consider the increased demands (volume) added by being online, variety within the services following the needs of the customers, and variations within the services as per the requirement of the customers. The company has to make its operations visible to certify the value of customers for its commercial.

  1. Different Operation Models

The operating model is considered as the model that comprises visualization, which tends to explore operations of the organization. There are four different operation models can be used by the sector in which Primark UK able to operates (Jin & Shin, 2020). The contrast between these operation models given below.

Coordination Operating Model

  • Communal suppliers, products, and suppliers.

  • Deliver influence on the transactions that comprise the other units of the commercial.

  • The business unit tends to control the design of the procedure of commercial.

  • Autonomous management of the commercial.

Unification Operating Model

  • Supplies, products, and suppliers exist at the global or the local level.

  • Globally incorporated procedures of the commercial, usually with the system of the corporation.

  • Particularly databases that are mandated.

  • Centralized sustainment usually implementing functional or procedures or the matrices of the business unit.

Diversification operation model

  • Unique units of the commercial operationally.

  • Few standards of the data across the units of the commercial.

  • Most of the decisions of information technology development within the units of commercial.

Replication operation model

  • Independent transactions that comprise the units of the commercial.

  • A standardized definition of the data.

  • Autonomous leaders of the business units with restricted or limited discretion over the procedures (Sławińska, 2016).

Recommendation for Primark's Business Operations

The most appropriate solution that comprises the problem of hybrid operations of Primark is the unification operation or operating model. It is because, under this operation or operating model, operations of the business are centered on the globally integrated collection of the procedures of commercial, in which the consumers and suppliers are distributed following geographical regions. This operation model and procedures of commercial of Primark under this model can make it easier for the consumers of Primark for the purpose to select and purchase the product and services of Primark.

  1. Enterprises' sustainable operations expected by the consumers and other stakeholders in the society of the UK

Customers and the other stakeholders associated with the society of the United Kingdom tend to expect more and a sustainable model that comprises the operations of the commercial. Primark has an enormous chance to embolden the behavior of sustainable consumers through the way they shape and design their offerings.

The product meets the actual demand without making any problem

The primary purpose of this expectation is to accomplish the requirements of the consumers as they are maintained in the retail store that has a huge impact on the sustainability of the business. The consumers and other stakeholders are conscious that the corporations should consider the complete impacts of the service or product introduced by the corporation within the social domain. All business products of companies as their activities can be divided into four principal elements: the physical item the consumer product, the service setting, and the distribution of services.

Are consumers honoured?

The other expectation comprises the honour that tends to deliver by the company to the consumers and other stakeholders. It is because the consumers and the company are in ongoing association with each other. The honour that tends to deliver by the company to the consumers tends to demonstrate that how valuable consumers are for the company. As consumers' behavior changes with time so the need to grow its sector online, the demands for sustainable services and products also increase.

Use of efficient technology

The customers tend to expect that the company should use the most advanced and innovative technology in the production, management, and distribution of the product. It also tends to demonstrate the value of customers for the company.

Environmental impacts

The other expectations comprise the environmental impacts of the products and services of the company. The expectation of environmental impacts usually associated with the administration or government of the UK. The government of the UK set standards for the products and services of the corporations. The corporations or companies should test the impacts that can be delivered by the particular service or product of the company on the environment. However, the best scenario for solving those difficulties is the multiplayer ecosystem strategy, in which all stakeholders collaborate to aid the 3persons — People, Planet, and profit.

Part 2

Rich Picture

I have a resit assignment for business process and systems. I can provide you with the previous work in which I got 30/100. i can provide the teachers feedback and other helping material also. 1

Root Definition

Primark UK is to change its Business Process Plan through excessive and suitable evaluation to increase the standardization and integration of the company.

  • The company will change the Business Process Plan from different operating models to a unification operating model.

CATWOE Analysis

Understanding different perspectives of stakeholders and understanding those perspectives are done by a technique known as CATWOE. CATWOE is an acronym of different terms to be considered in making a checklist of finding solutions to problems (Buehring, 2020). Following are those terms that collectively make the CATWOE analysis:

  • C = Customer (people on which issue is making an effect)

  • A = Actors (people involved in the matter or people who will take action)

  • T = Transformation (the actual effect of the issue)

  • W = World View (effects of actions)

  • O = Owner (who owns the problem or the situation and is responsible for taking action. In the case of an organization, the organization may give this task to the managers.

  • E = Environmental constraints (things that will affect the final success of the action made in the solution of a problem)

Moreover, it gives a simple view of what a company wants shortly and solutions that a particular company will take to solve that problem.

Current Plan

There are different operating models on which Primark is currently operating its Business Process Plan. Primark can so convincingly build this experience since they match everything they do with this business model exactly. It is publicly well matched with the market since this business model relates to and distinguishes between the requirements and the wishes of a specific consumer group. And it is inherently well-matched as all the activities of Primark - shopping, inventory control, shopping environment, etc. – are aligned with this experience for children in the candy shop. Mentioned as follows:

  • The first operating model on which Primark is working is Diversification. It is the model that is independent of the shared services. This operating system applies to those organizations and companies whose business operations have no or few similar customers and suppliers. The companies operating in this operating business model produce different products and provide different services to different customers. So this leads to low standardization accompanied by low integration.

  • Coordination is another operating model of operating the business. This model is opposite to the approach of Diversification as there is a dependency on shared services. Unlike Diversification, the rate integration is high in this model of an operating business plan. It would benefit the company in ways like cross-selling products and more chances of constructing a long supply chain process. But still, it is the operating system with low standardization but high integration, as mentioned earlier.

  • The operating model that works on standardization with complete independence is called the replication operating model. By following this model of operations, the company is working in a high standardization way. On the other, with high standardization, there is no dependency, and that means that the company is working on complete independence without any shared customer relationships. Efficiency and global innovations are the only factors determining the success of the company. (Meier, 2019)

Business Process Plan to be

The Business Process Plan to be for Primark UK is a unification operation model. It includes the geographical distribution of customers and suppliers. This model of business process plan is characterized by high standardization and high integration. Although Primark UK has distinct operations, it should work more to make business units more standardize business processes. This operational model targets only the execution strategy for the corporate process of the organization, while the organization's architecture deconstructs the model, concentrating on the granular level of how it can be implemented (COMPEAN, 2016).

Part 3

Implementation of New Effective Process

Change in the operating model is necessary for Primark UK to develop the company in every aspect of a business. Changing the Business Process Plan and introducing the new one is known as the unification operating model. Considering the factors involved in the implementation of the new Business Process Plan, that is, the unification of the operating model and the influence of this change in the productivity and sustainability of Primark UK.

The basic strategy behind the change or modification in the Business Process Plan of an organization is to make long-term growth and sustainability. It is important and essential to effectively manage the company for growing more competitive and growing environment in the market. Properly setting the organizational structure and organizational operations clearly from the perspective of the Business Process Plan will help the company to achieve the desired objectives. For the implementation of the new plans and strategies, there would be a generalized process.

Effective implementation

The process of implementation is never easy and simple. To get the desired results, the process should be a well-structured plan consisting of a specific sequence to be followed during the implementation process. The vision should be clear and characterized by thoughts like that Primark UK will get lots of reputational and operational benefits after the successful implementation process of the hybrid model to go online. It will lead Primark UK to deal with business more productively, and the new operations being applied would be contributing to the business expansion of Primark UK. Primark UK is to be keeping in mind that their main selling product is their dresses, so all the strategies and the changes in the operational model of business would result in their favor keeping in mind the perspective of more focused on the management of the dress products. These implementations will get several advantages to the company and help complete the Business Process Plan.

Management objective to operational priorities

Change in the business operational model can also be accompanied by a few internal changes like redesigning different products' production processes, especially in making the dress by introducing the new and unique styles to gather enough customers to sp online. The introduction of the new operating model will focus on both standardization and integration. In handling that process, managers working in Primark UK are expected to becoming more quick and intelligent enough to make quick and good decisions that result in the betterment and productivity of Primark UK as a hybrid model. The implementation of the unification operating model may need a high level of integrity and leadership qualities in the managers of Primark UK. Moreover, the top-level management reconstruction can also be done here to be ready to be taking productive steps according to the unification operating model in various challenging situations. These changes will help Primark UK in achieving its objectives and goals according to its plans. If all of the provided solutions for implementing the new Business Process Plan are considered by the company, then it will help Primark UK in availing every market opportunity.

Resources Required and Costs

The process is surely costly and, more importantly, time-consuming. The cost may be in the form of hard work as well as a form of a budget. It is understood that the enhancement of a business or company is gained due to proposing new plans, new strategies, and new products. Proposing new plans and strategies demands more expenditure. After the implementation of unification, the company's target customers increase from local to global, which will require more budget and more services provided by the workers and managers of Primark UK.

The unification operating model enables a company to construct more business units to have a substantial global impact that also required more cost. These business units may closely relate to early productions or have the nature of new productions.
