BUAD.341 - Managerial Finance I Single Company Analysis The final paper should be organized as follows : 1. Title page. 2. Table of contents. 3. 10 -12 pages of double spaced text (1 inch margins, 12 point font) excluding supporting tables and graphs. 4. An appendix which includes complete financial statements, common size statements, ratios and industry aggregates. This should be similar to the LA Gear Assignment in chapter 3. 5. This section must include a graph showing the changes in the relevant turnover ratios. 4. Evaluate changes in leverage using relevant financial ratios and your common size balance sheet. Be sure to include industry comp arisons. Significant changes must be explained/related to changes in your company's business or industry. Be sure to tie significant changes in leverage to your discussion of profitability and liquidity. Did the company issue or repay debt or equity? If so, why? Did they repurchase shares? 5. Evaluate changes in liquidity using the cash flow statement, and relevant financial ratios. Be sure to include industry comparisons. Significant changes must be explained/related to changes in your company's business or industry. The Management Discussion and Analysis section of your company's annual report is an excellent place to st art. Be sure to tie your analysis of cash flows to changes in financial leverage. This section must include graphs showing the company's operating, financing, and investing cash flow for each of the past three years, and a graph showing company's asset to equity ratio, current ratio, and acid/quick ratio. 4. Investment Recommendation (1 -2 pages) A summary of your firm's financial performance and an investment recommendation. Include: • A discussion of P/E and P/S ratios, dividend yields, and growth rates. • An estimate of your company's intrinsic value using the dividend growth model (Chapter 8). You must discuss your assumptions, and show your calculations.
