ACC 691 Module Two Group Discussion Guidelines and Rubric Your active participation in the discussion topics is essential to your overall success this term. Discussion questions are designed to help you make meaningful connections between the course content and the larger concepts and goals of the course. These discussions offer you the opportunity to express your own thoughts, ask questions for clarification, and gain insight from yo ur classmates’ responses and instructor’s guidance.

You will participate in three case study group discussions throughout this course and will be randomly assigned into a small group for each group discussion. The specific discussion components for the Module Two group discussion are listed below.

Module Two Case Study Group Discussion: “The Sizzling Saga of Sunbeam” In this group discussion, your small group will analyze the case presented in Chapter 3 in the textbook, titled “The Sizzling Saga of Sunbeam.” You will select one of the five topics below to discuss in your initial post. Make your selection based on alphabetical order of the first names in your group. For example, Alejandro (Topic 1), Ben (Topic 2), Jana (Topic 3), Mackenna (Topic 4), and Xenia (Topic 5). If there are fewer than five students in your group, you may leave one topic unaddressed and if there are more than five students in your group, you may doubleup on topics.

Topics:

1. The participants and the way the fraud was committed 2. The element(s) of the fraud triangle that were compromised 3. The evidence that is needed to prove the fraud 4. The risk factors for this type of fraud 5. The detection methods that were applied to assess the risk of this type of fraud In response to two peers within your small group, discuss the analysis of the element they completed. Explain if you agree or disagree with their analysis an d support your answer. If you must duplicate a topic, please be sure to select two different topics for your two responses.

Requirements for Discussion T opic Assignments Stu dents are required to post one initial post and to follow up with at least two response posts for each group discussion topic assignment.

For your initial post (1) you must do the following:

 Compose a post of one to two paragraphs for your assigned topic.

 Complete the initial post by Thursday at 11:59 p.m. of your local time zone.

 Take into consideration material such as course content and other discussion topics from the current module and previous modules, when appropriate. For your response posts (2),you must do the following:

 Reply to at least two different classmates within your small group outside of your own initial post thread.

 Complete the two response posts by Sunday at 11:59 p.m. of your local time zone.
