  • Design a group session plan, according to a specific type of group. The group can be a task, work, or psychoeducational group.

Points Earned:

  • Create an 12- to 15-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation to describe how you would demonstrate group leadership skills while facilitating your designed group session. Take your audience through your designed group session and complete the following in your presentation:

    • Describe how you would demonstrate your ability to lead the group through communicating clearly, working with others, answering questions appropriately, expressing feelings, and observing and responding to group dynamics.

    • Describe how you would communicate with the group using proper verbal communication, visual aids, activities or exercises, Microsoft® PowerPoint®, video, or other appropriate means of communication.

    • Describe how you would bring the session to a close within the specified timeframe.

  • The presentation links theory to relevant examples and uses the vocabulary of the theory correctly (A minimum of 2scholarly sources).

  • 12 to 15 slides (a minimum of 14 slides when counting the introduction slide and the reference slide).

  • The tone is appropriate.

  • The introduction slide provides a sufficient background on the topic and previews major points.

  • Slide transitions are present, logical, and maintain the flow throughout the paper.

  • The conclusion is logical, flows from the body of the presentation, and reviews the major points.

  • Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation, group session plan, and reflection is submitted in Blackboard.

  • APA formatting is evident

  • Slides utilize short, bullet points and then elaboration occurs in the speaker notes.

  • Intellectual property is recognized with in-text citations and a reference page in APA format.

  • Citations in the presentation are consistent with APA formatting guidelines and meet course-level requirements. In-text citations revealing outside source information are used as supportive research.

  • Rules of spelling, grammar, usage, and punctuation are followed.

  • Sentences are complete, clear, concise, and varied.
