6.2 Journal

The characteristic that is effective within my organization is empathy. Empathy is a soft skill that is very essential in promoting cooperation and/or commitment within the workplace. Also, when it comes to empathy within the workplace, this gives the employees ease at knowing their opinions and/voice is being heard. Being able to have leaders with empathy is especially great in my organization knowing that you have a leader(s) who is very open with options as well as to being able to accommodate other employees too. I honestly have to say that my administrator is understanding to a certain degree and/or when it’s beneficial to her to say the least. However, the school administrator has a sense of being fair and just and allows others to achieve their best, which is assumed to be her inability to hold people accountable (Richardson, 2004). Furthermore, I would have to say that my administrator demonstrates persuasiveness traits. Once she set her mind to an idea, she can persuade this idea to the rest of the employees with high hopes of us aligning with her vision. In addition, women nowadays play a huge role when it comes to redefining the future of a work culture that embraces women, encourage them, and being able to groom them into future leaders. Based on the characteristics of female leaders, I myself can improve my leadership by being able to be persuasive to other individuals. I can start by being a good listener. Being able to be an attentive leader can help others truly understand others perspective, as well. Also, a leader should be able to prepare themselves to prepare others to fully understand the issues that are at hand.
