Nowadays, many managers have a limited understanding of how culture affects global business interactions. Even those who have lived abroad often have few strategies for addressing the cultural conflicts that affect the effectiveness of their teams (Erin, 2021). The cultural Map provides a new way to resolve cultural conflicts and improve cooperation. Author Erin Meyer offers a tested model to explain how cultural differences affect international business. She combines intelligent analytical frameworks with practical experiences and gives actionable advice. One of today’s challenges in the Canadian workplace is cultural diversity. It is illustrated as the varied kinds of workers in one organization in terms of culture. Cultural diversity, due to the employees come from different countries with varied values and languages. It is becoming the most significant challenge in the Canadian workplace for the last ten years. The language barrier and cultural barrier contribute to miscomprehension and low efficiency in the workplace. Take our team as an example, four members come from four different countries. Culture Map identifies eight key areas with cultural differences and establishes coordinates for each area with the countries in the corresponding position. We can see the differences between other cultures and enable us to adjust our behavior in these key areas. Firstly, the enterprise should create a harmonious community in which people respect the differences between diverse employees. For example, respect others’ beliefs and customs. Secondly, to build up simple but practical rules in the company.
