Overview

These case studies are to be done individually.

Read the appropriate materials and prepare an 8-10 page (2200 words, +/-10%) case analysis report for each of the cases.

 Organized as you see appropriate for the topic, in a way that address all the questions provided for each case on the course website (not within the case itself).

 Each report should include an introduction and conclusion.

 Follow APA style in both organization and referencing. Incorporate at least two sound academic sources.

Instructions

Carefully read the case and consider its context in relation to TQM and Six Sigma readings and concepts learned in this unit. The case includes situational information, which should be used to perform the required analysis and make the appropriate recommendations. You are required to address all of the following questions within your case analysis:

Case Questions

  1. How would you apply each of the DMAIC stages

  2. What success measures are required/needed at pilot sites for a decision to roll-out?

  3. How would you evaluate Rivermede plant on each of the eight criteria mentioned on page 5 of the case?

  4. What are some lessons learned to avoid failure in implementing Six Sigma? Show some linkages to the case details and course material.

  5. Anthony Scire was striving not to underestimate the risks of implementing Six Sigma @ the Edge. What risks can you highlight? Explain in detail, along with ways to mitigate each risk.

  6. Discuss the implementation of Six Sigma @ the Edge on both (1) the tactical, and (2) the strategic levels.
