Oxbryta is a pharmacological agent that has been in the market for least 5 years for now. This medication is used to treat the disease like sickle cell. The intended demographic brochure is for clients or patients of 12 years or older. Sickle cell disease is seen meanly in African American, black disease in the United States and globally. most people who will be able to read this brochure will be black females and males. The research shows that about 1 in 13 babies who born with sickle cell trait are African American or black. The study’s show that around 1 in every 365 babies born with sickle cell trait are black or African American (“Drug trails snapshots: Oxbryta, “2020). To know more about the use of Oxbryta, it is highly recommended that the patient uses this brochure to learn more about the cons and pros of using this drug.

This brochure contains so many details and explanation about how to use the medication, side effects, when taking the meds, and who can take this medication. The brochure gave us more details in side effect of this drug which include serious allergic reactions, rashes, shortness of breath and swelling of face. The most common side effect is headache, stomach pain, tiredness, fever, diarrhea, and nausea (“drug trial snapshots: Oxbryta, “2020). As indicated above only patients age of 12 and above who are allowed to take this drug. It very recommended to notifier your healthcare provider if a person has liver problem, plan to become pregnant or pregnant, and breast-feeding before taking this drug.

Lastly how should this drug be taken? This drug needs to be taken as prescribed by your health care provider. Take this medication once daily with food or without food. If it is happened and you skip a day, do not double up the drug the next day. Just wait until it is time to take another dose.
