Based on the topic/objective previously assigned for Assignment 1, students will be finding and and organizing information that is relevant to the topic before writing an introduction section of a report/paper . [Total: 20 marks] Part A: Planning an Introduction [10 marks] An introduction for scientific writing is typically composed of a series of paragraph that contain similar information. The overall flow of an introduction starts with general information that provides back ground on a topic followed by more specific information that is directly related to an experimental question/objective which also informs the hypothesis . Background information precedes the description of the experimental question/objective and the main hypothesis to be investigated ( and predictions specific to an experiment, but not for this assignment). This part of the assignment focuses on planning out the paragraphs that will be constructed Pa rt B.
