Carrots and oranges share a lot of similarities. Both carrots and oranges come from plants. They are edible and taste sweet because they have relatively higher sugar content than other types of foods from plants. They are both orange in color because they have pigments called carotenoids. They both come from plants that are in the category of angiosperms, flowering plants.

Carrots are modified roots from the plant, while oranges are seed-bearing, ripened ovaries from the orange tree’s flower. Carrots grow below ground, in the dirt, while oranges grow at the end of a stem in the air. Oranges have a spherical shape, while carrots are elongated cones.
