Since it’s a new business , you need to research, find relevant information, and learn about current practices. A list of types of businesses are listed below. 1. A small restaurant in any city of the Greater Vancouver Area (the city and cuisine of your team's choice) 2. A bike rental shop (any city of the Greater Vancouver Ar ea). 3. Cleaning business focusing on residential and commercial janitorial services (any city of the Greater Vancouver Area). 4. Online store that will sell hand -made jewelry across Canada. 5. Beauty studio in any city of the Greater Vancouver Area wit h a focus on makeup or hairdressing. 6. A small grocery corner store in any Greater Vancouver area city . Once you choose the type of business, select a type of role ( ONLY ONE ROLE ) you would like to assume and conduct research to address the questions li sted along with the role from the list below. 1. Marketing Manager. You need to research and provide the first steps your company needs for marketing and branding. For example, what will be the company's name and possible logo (you do not have to draw it, but you need to explain)? What is your target market, and which channels should be used? How to make customers call you or visit your website/store? What is the possible customer flow – from the first point of contact to the post -purchase behavior ? What to start with? What specific location should the company select (if it is brick -and -mortar) , or what domain and domain name should the company choose (if it is an online business)? Please, include all the stakeholders involved as part of your discus sion in the report. 2. HR Manager. You need to research and provide the first steps your company needs to recruit and retain personnel. For example, what roles do you need? How to motivate people to work in your company? What is the average salary for eac h role you need? What procedures do you need to include? How to establish good communications in the company, and what culture would you start building in the company? Please, include all the stakeholders involved as part of your discussion in the report. 3. Operations Manager. You need to research and provide the first steps your company needs for their operations. For example, how to set up a supply chain from the very beginning? Who can be the suppliers, and why? How to organize product/service delivery within the company to avoid bottlenecks in the process? How to organize LEAN operations? What store/office layout would you suggest for successful operations? Please, include all the stakeholders involved as part of your discussion in the report. 5. Finance Manager. You need to research and provide the first steps your company needs to finance the business and maintain it at a profitable level. What are the main expenses your company has to start the business? What is the potential revenue stream for the first year? What are your variable and fixed costs? How to price the products/ser vices properly to get the breakeven in the first year? If that is not possible, please, explain when it is possible and how? What are the sources of finances (please, provide all possible options with explanations according to your business activity – for example, grants, banks, etc.). Please, include all the stakeholders involved as part of your discussion in the report. At least FIVE questions (2 page s answer - to each question ) similar to those mentioned for each role should be addressed in separate sections . 5.
