double spaced 6-8 pages Instructions are attched below with an outline of the term paper. Please read the outline and finish the final term paper. Please use only the book for this assignment

GOVT 322: The term paper is worth 20% of your course grade.

For your paper, pick two authors we have studied or otherwise discussed in class. We then ask you to analyze their arguments and contemplate applying their theories within the international arena.

As an example, you could pick Huntington and his article on The Clash of Civilizations. Your analysis of the Huntington article should, at a minimum, include:

(1) The author's thesis. In other words, what is the author's position or purpose for his article? What does the author believe is or will be the case now or in the future?

(2) How does the author make his case? What examples does he or she use to support his or her thesis?

(3) Do you agree or disagree with the case the author is making and the examples he or she uses to support his or her thesis?

(4) Give an example or examples of things that have occurred since the author published his paper that tend to prove out or disprove the thesis.

In addition to picking one of the authors we study in the book, you can pick an author we have discussed. Machiavelli is one of those authors. He wrote "The Prince." We alluded to some of his philosophy in class with clips from the movie "A Bronx Tale." "The Prince" is really a short read, just like GMU political science students like.

Again, if you pick this author, what is his

(1) Thesis

(2) How does he make his case?

(3) Do you agree or disagree with him.

(4) Give examples of leaders who seem to have followed his advice. Napoleon would certainly be one of them. Are there others?

You have the freedom to choose your authors. You can choose Huntington or Machiavelli if you like. However, you cannot choose both. If you choose Huntington, then you cannot choose Machiavelli as your second author and vice-versa. You have to choose another author in that case, or you can choose any other authors in the book, if you like and not do either Huntington or Machiavelli.

The paper should be double-spaced and be from 6-8 pages in length. I am looking for some critical thinking here, that is, if you are looking for the full 20 points. The Term Paper is due 11 April 2023, at 7:20 pm to
