Excel Module 2 Assignment (15 points possible, -2 each error/omission) For this assignment you will be formatting given information and putting in formulas and functions. *In our class you should be learning how to write a ‘simple’ formula which is a multiplication of two cells or subtraction of two cells (as examples) . In this assignment there are a few formulas to write and the only functions that should be present when done is the SUM Function. Always use cell references in formulas and ranges in Functions . I need to see you ’ve learned how to write a formula . The only functions that should be present in this assignment is the SUM function. If you use an ‘advanced’ function such as IMSUB, D AYS, or a nested function you will get points taken off for being incorrect. If you’re asked to multiply two cells, then write a formula which multiplies those two cells, do not write a function. Steps to Perform: Step Instructions 1 Download and open the Excel Module 2 Assignment Data File.xlsx. Save the file to your computer as Excel Module 2 Assignment_Yourlastname.x lsx 2 Rename the tabs with the following: ( right click on tab to complete these with rename , and tab color ) 1. Rename Sheet 1 to Calls Closed , change the tab color to standard color red 2. Rename Sheet 2 to Theatre , change the tab color to standard color orange 3. Rename Sheet 3 to Fitness Center , change th e tab color to standard color green Step Instructions 3 On the Calls Closed worksheet: 1. Format all Hours Logged to have 2 decimal places visible. 2. Calculate Days Open in J4 by writing a formula that represents Closed Date minus Open Date. Use the fill handle and copy formula down for all cells with Call IDs (don’t go past rows not used). 3. Calculate Amount Billed in K4 by writing a formula that represents Rate times Hours Logged. Use the fill handle and copy formula down for all cells with Call IDs (don’t go past rows n ot used). 4. Format all values in Rate column and Amount Billed column with Accounting Number Format. Make sure all data in worksheet is showing in each column. You can always widen columns if you need to. 5. Adjust margins, change orientation, reduce column sizes (last resort, reduce point size 1 pt.) – do whatever you need to do to get the data to prin t on page with no data spilling over to a se cond page. 4 On the Theatre worksheet : 1. Calculate Percentage Purchased in E5 by writing a formula that divides Seats Purchased by Seats in Section. Use the fill handle and copy formula down for all cells ending with Tier 2 Sides row. 2. Calculate Gross Revenue in F5 by writing a formula that mul tiplies Seats Purchased by Price Per Seat. Use the fill handle and copy formulas down for all cells ending with Tier 2 Sides row. 3. Apply Currency format to the values in Columns D and F with no decimal places showing. Apply Percent Style Number form to a ll values in Column E with no decimal places showing. 4. Make sure all data in worksheet is showing in each column. You can always widen columns if you need to. 5. Place a footer on this worksheet with your full name in the center section. (type in what your ac tual first and last name is, do not type in ‘your full name’) Step Instructions 5 On the Fitness Center worksheet 1. Calculate Total Income in B8 by writing a function that adds up all values of Income for Year 1. Using fill handle, copy function to other year (use the Sum function, NOT a formula) 2. Calculate Total Expenses in B14 by writing a function that adds up all values of Expenses for Year 1. Using fill handle, c opy function to other years. 3. Calculate Net Profit in B16 by writing a formula that represents Total Income minus Total Expenses for Year 1. Using the fill handle, copy across to Year 3. 4. Insert a Header with the file name placed in the center section. Do not type the file name in , use File Name option in the Header & Footer Element group on the Header & Footer Tools Design Tab. 1) 6 Look over the worksheet. Make sure all data is visible, if any cells fill with ####, widen the column . Save and Close. Do not submit until you are ready for the file to be graded.
