Imagine your manager has asked you to help with a presentation on the company’s financial performance at the company’s annual meeting.

Create a 10- to 16-slide presentation for investors to assess the company’s financial growth and sustainability. Use speaker notes to convey

the details you would give if you were presenting.

Complete the following in your presentation:

• Identify key performance indicators for the company you selected, including the following.

o The company and its ticker symbol

o Cash flow from operations

o Price-to-earnings ratio

o Stock dividends and the yield, if any

You may choose to access a company’s financial information using Yahoo Finance. Using the Search bar at the top of the Yahoo Finance homepage, search your chosen company by name to navigate to the company’s financial information. Use the blue tabs to find additional information detailed below:

Key Performance Indicators – Summary

Many KPIs can be found within the Summary tab. Some of these may include:

  • The company and its ticker symbol
  • Price-to-earnings ratio
  • Stock dividends and the yield
  • Earnings per share ratio
  • Average trade volume
  • Current stock price
  • 52-week high
  • 1-year estimated stock price
  • Analysts’ recommendations for the stock (buy, sell, or hold)
  • Market cap for the company
Key Performance Indicators – Revenue

Information on a company’s revenue may be found on using the following:

Revenue estimates may be found within the Analysis tab near the middle of the page.

The previous three years’ revenue may be found within the Financials tab using the blue Income Statement Link near the top of the page.

Key Performance Indicators – Cash Flows

Cash flow figures may be found within the Financials tab using the blue Cash Flow link near the top of the page

Trends – Stock Price

Stock Price trends may be found within the Historical tab. To find trends over a period of time, change the Time Period to correspond to the time you wish to view. Change the Frequency to “Monthly” and hit the blue Apply button. This will give you the beginning and ending figures for the stock’s Adjusted Close Price.

Trends – Dividends

Dividend trends may also be found within the Historical tab. To find trends over a period of time, change the Time Period to correspond to the time you wish to view. Change the Frequency to “Monthly” and hit the blue Apply button. This will give you the beginning and ending figures for quarterly dividends in bold.


Trends – Stockholder’s Equity

Stockholder Equity trends may be found within the Financials tab using the blue Balance Sheet link near the top of the page. Select the “Total Equity Gross Minority Interest” arrow to open your Stockholder’s Equity figures for the last four years.
