NURS 450
Clinical Log #2
Last week you created a proposed schedule of clinical hours. This week and hereafter, you will report your actual time spent accomplishing clinical tasks.
Clinical Activity | Time Spent |
Online Community Research | 4 hours |
Identification of Community | 4 hours |
Data Collection | 6 hours |
Total: | 14 hours |
Task #1
Perform the windshield survey. This portion of the community assessment was described in Module 1. You will drive through your approved community and document everything you see. It would be in your best interest to become familiar with the windshield survey handout and worksheet so you can focus on pertinent facets of the community. This task may be easier if someone drives while you observe and document. However, if that is not an option, another great method is to record observations with a voice recorder and later transcribe that information to the appropriate form. The completed windshield survey is due no later than 11:59 pm on Sunday of Module 3.
Task #2
Begin data collection for your community assessment. Data collection will focus on the components of the community (people, place, and function). Refer to Chapter 13 in your text for further information on data collection. Table 13.1 gives some great examples of where to look for relevant data. List at least 3 sources you referenced for data collection.
