EDUC 5326 Final Benchmark Project

AI Benchmark Project Guidelines

(NOTE: See the rubric for how to meet “Exceeds Expectations” per each category)

  1. Presentations on AI

  • Choose a visually appealing presentation on AI.

  • Utilize a presentation tool compatible with Canvas that allows for a smooth viewing experience (PP, Prezi, Canva)

  1. 15 Slides and Creativity:

  • Craft 15 slides (minimum) that are informative, engaging, and creatively present information about AI. Watch how many words are on the slides and the size of any graphs or pictures – sometimes they are too small to read.

  1. Definition of AI:

  • Include a clear and concise definition of AI within the presentation to establish the foundational understanding.

  1. Concerns for Student and Teacher Use: (2 concerns for each)

  • Identify and elaborate on concerns for both student and teacher use of AI in education. Cover ethical, pedagogical, or accessibility concerns.) Include at least two (2) concerns.)

  1. Connection to ISTE standards: 3 ISTE Standards

  • Align the presentation with at least three ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Standards

  • Explain how the content of the presentation connects and supports these standards, emphasizing the relevance to educational technology.

  1. Reference Slide and APA Citations:

  • Utilize APA citation format for any references or sources used in the presentation (ChatGPT can assist in generation APA citations.)

  • Include at least 10 references on the Reference Slide.

  • One reference MUST be the APA AI/ChatGPT reference.

  1. Research and Selection of AI Tools: I Realize that I removed the previous assignment, so you will need to conduct the research for this assignment.

  • From the list you researched in the previous assignment, choose at least one AI tool relevant to your classroom or educational setting. To meet exceeds on rubric requires two AI tools.

  • Explain how the tool could be integrated in a lesson and the expected outcome. (How could you use it?)

  • List two (2) ways this tool could enhance learning experiences.

Strengthening the Project:
1. Visual Design:
Focus on a visually appealing layout with clear and readable text, complemented by relevant images or graphs.

2. Engaging Content: Ensure that the presentation is engaging and easy to follow, using examples or case studies to illustrate points about AI in education.

3. Depth and Analysis: Dive deep into concerns, connecting them to real world scenarios in education. Include potential solutions or strategies to mitigate these concerns.

4. ISTE Standards Integration: Explicitly demonstrate how the content aligns with ISTE Standards, showcasing how the use of AI in education supports and enhances these standards.

5. Practical Use of AI Tools: When discussing the AI tools, provide concrete examples of positive impact on student learning.

This comprehensive approach will result in a well-rounded presentation that not only explores AI in education but also considers its implications, aligns with educational standards, and offers practical insights into the use of AI tools in teaching and learning.

NOTE: YOU MAY NOT BE IMPRESSED WITH AI OR DESIRE TO USE IT IN YOUR CLASSROOM. THIS PROEJCT DOES NOT REQUIRE THAT YOU ARE READY TO IMBED AI IN YOUR LESSONS OR CLASSROOMS. THE PROJECT IS INTENDED TO HELP US RESEARCH IT, LEARN TO ALLOW US TO MAKE EDUCATED DECSIONS REGARDING THE USE IN EDCATION.
