Access the Case Study 10.1 Marketing the Opioid Epidemic



The Unit Case Study is a two-part assignment. For Part I, how well did Purdue Pharma align their ethical codes with their marketing strategy? Discuss ethical issues associated with Purdue Pharma’s misrepresentation of data. Also, what are the implications of the company funding favorable research studies and paying doctors to argue that opioid addiction fears were overstated? Recommend a plan for the company to overhaul its research program to fund independent scientific research.


For Part II of the assignment, what gaps were there with Purdue Pharma and their ethical codes and marketing development? Since Purdue Pharma is now switching its marketing efforts to overseas markets, examine possible ethical issues that exist in the company and the industry. Is the company solely to blame, or do family members have individual accountability for Purdue Pharma’s actions?


The completed case study should be a minimum of four pages, not counting the title page and references page. Find a minimum of four journal articles as your foundational sources for this assignment, citing the articles to support your discussion. (Articles must be within the past 5 years) Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used. Please note that no abstract is needed.
