Alynn Cobbs, is and 30-year-old African American female, that currently works as a banker and lives alone. Patient states she is suffering from depression and anxiety due to her sexuality. Patient states she feels everyone at work is constantly staring at her from a judgmental standpoint. Patient states she has been hiding her sexuality for about 15 years, because she did not want to be judged or looked at differently. Patient states she is currently in a same sex relationship in which she plays the female role, but her partner looks and dress like a man. Patient states this has affected her self-esteem as well, because of how people portray homosexuality, and it has affected her negatively. Patient states it is also causing negativity in her relationship because her partner does not want to continue feeling like their relationship doesn’t exist after 3 years. Patient states she is also tired of hiding but she doesn’t want to hurt her family. Patient states she uses school and work as reasons that she is not in a relationship with her family and friends. Patient states she and her partner has not be intimate in about 4 months because she is stressed and concerned what other people, we think of them and that is why they have not moved in together yet.

Patient states her parents are still living and she has one twin sister, that lives a normal life with two kids and is engaged to be married. Patient states she is envious of her sister sometimes because she feels her sister is normal and she is not so sometimes she is mean to her sister and feels uncomfortable around her at times, so she avoids family gatherings. Patient report even as kids she was verbally abusive and combative towards her sister, but as she became older it has gotten better. Patient states she feels lonely because she has no one to open up to and feels overwhelmed, irritable and annoyed almost every day and it pushes her further into her depression. Patient states she has a few friends that her and her partner hang out with but usually go to each other’s homes. Patient states she sometime just wants to isolate herself at times. Patient states she has not thought of hurting herself or others she just wants to be ok with she is and not care what people think of her. Patient states her other issue is her family is very religious and father is Deacon at their church, and she don’t want to embarrass him.
