EDUC 6302 STUDENT GUIDELINES FOR FINAL EXAM - BENCHMARK PROJECT

Have you ever attended an Inservice, faculty meeting or class where current information was presented? Most of the time, this presentation is done through the media of a handout or PowerPoint. As educators and leaders, you will be EXPECTED to develop such a presentation which conveys information (sometimes VERY DRY information… think state testing trainings).

After researching and studying the three major leadership styles in education, chose one style and create a professional development media presentation that can be used with a PLC, Grade Level Team, Faculty, Professional Organization or at a conference. (Note: Please do not use SWAY or any other media format that would require an account for it to be viewed. You may use Google Slide or Canva if you allow me to view it without having to ask permission.)

******

  1. Develop a media presentation with at least twenty slides which may be used as an in-service presentation, training, or conference. To earn all the points in this category on the rubric, it must have 21-25 slides.

  2. The title slide should identify your presentation focus and identify the presenter. Example: Implementing Instructional Rounds by Joan Bowman

  3. There must be a slide that describes the leadership style and explains why you selected this specific leadership style.

  4. The next slide(s) should allow for an overview or summary of your presentation.

  5. The following slides should provide a thorough explanation of the topic.

  6. Include one interactive activity that relates to the topic.

  7. The final slide(s) should include at least ten different sites/links/articles that were the foundation for the project. The references should be in APA style. (Place copies of links to the research on the PP media presentation).

  8. Align to at least three ISTE Standards – explain how it was aligned. Write one sentence after each standard used and explain how it is connected to your presentation. (3-4 ISTE Standards) You may use the ISTE student standards or the ISTE educator standards.

  9. The PP media presentation should keep the audience’s attention (in other words, not just a boring white background with black lettering). Pay close attention to the number of words that you place on each slide. Be creative by including related videos, graphics, sound, and pictures, etc.

  10. Make a video of the presentation or you can use a voice-over.

  11. The final project will be due June 16. Upload to the Canvas assignment titled Module 3 Benchmark Final Project.
