Hello, my concept map discusses how ethnic minorities, lower-class, gender gaps, and intellectual/developmental disabilities influence quality and access to healthcare needs at the individual and group level. I provide historical insight in each category and compare the ways in which healthcare for these groups has improved or worsened over the years. My concept map illustrates how these determinants of health have impacted immigrants, homelessness, both men and women, and ability to function as a member of society. While the rights of women and persons with disabilities have seen major progress, laws have failed to protect immigrants and those in poverty. Many efforts are still warranted to promote equality in healthcare delivery to these groups.

My concept map talks about the disparities that black mothers and infants face in healthcare resulting in higher mortality rates than their white counterparts. Black women experience more pregnancy related complications due to biases and discrimination in healthcare facilities contributing to higher preterm births and deaths. Black women's health related concerns are often dismissed or health care is delayed because of discrimination.
