Required Components of Action Plan Poster or Presentation:

  • Introduction – Either the current collaboration needs of your real or hypothetical school situation based on the need for improving academic skills and attitude toward learning for students of poverty and/or students exposed to trauma OR a theoretical introduction to the learning needs of students of poverty

  • Include an ENGAGER - Use the testimonies or the movie ideas om how to create a great TEAM.   • Description /characteristics of students in poverty/trauma

  • The goals of your collaboration program AND the actions (strategies and collaboration methods) that will be used to achieve your goals (look for collaboration strategies from the handouts, websites, and your own research) based on your chosen Framework.

  • You will need a major strategy for each key area. Example : trauma -informed pedagogy strategies, methods of engagement for students, ways to involve families and community in the plan and process of your goals.

  • The proposed process ( steps) to achieve your goals AND how you will evaluate the success of the program Example : Jensen's SHARE Model in your textbook and the steps to creating Trauma Informed Schools found in Module 3 resources. Then include a way to determine if the action made a difference.

  • Add visuals to enhance points create interest in your poster and inspire viewers to take interest in your cause.

  • MUST include a plan to measure your success or the impact of your action

  • Include a reference box

Posters will be uploaded in a group discussion to share with others. This is a typical format for conference presentation and will be useful for training faculty or for professional development.
