In Unit II, we discussed that there is a process to writing but that there is no one, specific, start-to-finish process. Instead, the process is cyclical. Additionally, you learned that it is important to understand yourself as a writer and that you have your own process. In Unit III, you wrote your first paper for this class and should now have a better idea of your own writing process.
Please respond to this prompt by reflecting upon your own writing process. You may choose to use the guiding questions/prompts below to begin your reflection; however, you do not have to address all the questions. The objective of this reflection is to become better acquainted with the process that you go through when writing. Your journal entry must be at least 200 words in length.
What was your process of writing the Unit III Compare/Contrast Essay? For example, did you use any pre-writing activities like free writing, bubble mapping, or outlining? Did you brainstorm? Did you write the essay all in one session, or did you break it up into multiple writing sessions?
What are your feelings about writing? Have you always had these feelings? Did anything surprise you about writing the Unit III paper?
Do you always follow the same process every time you write, or does your process seem to change depending upon what you are writing?
What was your process for writing this reflection? How did this process differ from your process of writing the paper?
Will you alter or develop your writing process going forward?
Remember that this is a piece of reflective writing, and while we tend to consider reflective writing to be about "how far we have come," it is not necessary for that to be the case. Looking in the mirror at our reflection is not an act about the passage of time or about growth; it is about being able to see ourselves where we could not before. Remember to be kind to yourself. You are a beginning writer, and this is an exercise about discovering who you are as a writer so that we can work together to build who you will be.

International versus U.S. Accounting Standards
Journal objective: For this assignment, you will research and compare international and U.S. accounting standards. This will enable you to see how the different reporting methods affect business and how product costs are affected by international business.
The learning objectives of this report are as follows:
Compare and contrast basic U.S. and international financial accounting standards.
Explain how key international factors affect business reporting.
Identify key compliance and regulatory requirements.
Length: Using the Unit IV Research Report Template, prepare a three- to four-page written report covering the items listed below (page length does not include the title slide and references).
References: A minimum of 3 peer-reviewed references are required, any additional resources used are required to be scholarly/academic in nature and found in the CSU Library. APA formatting is required be used for citations and references. Use this definition to define the term in the instructions.
Definitions: Scholarly journals are sometimes called academic journals. The terms are often used interchangeably to describe the same type of publication. These types of publications are published by universities, academic institutions, professional associations, and commercial enterprises and are compiled by scholars, academics, and other subject authorities.
Details:
First, start the paper with an abstract and introduction section per the assignment template provided above.
Part 1: Select financial statements for two related (e.g., computer manufactures, pharmaceutical companies, cell phone companies, etc.) businesses; one that uses U.S. accounting reporting and the other that uses international accounting reporting. Identify the following items:
Provide the name, location, and accounting standards used for each business.
Compare and contrast three major differences you see in the way the financial data is presented on the financial statements.
Identify which set of financial statements you think is the easiest to understand and provides you with most accurate cost data as a manager. (Do not forget to look at the notes to the financial statements also.)
Part 2: Analyze and discuss three international factors you think would affect the cost of the products made at the companies you selected and why.
Part 3: Discuss any compliance and/or regulatory issues you think would be involved in the companies you have selected as they relate to the cost of the products made. For example, are there strict regulations on product pricing, tariffs imposed on raw materials needed to make the products, or strict regulations on the wages paid to workers?
End this paper with the key observations and present any future recommendations.
Human Resource Management
Do you know if you are an auditory (learn by hearing), visual (learn by seeing), or kinesthetic (learn by doing) learner? Using your preferred search engine, search “learning style self-assessment.” Then, take one of the many available online self-assessments.
Do you agree or disagree with the results? Why, or why not? Reflect on a time when your learning style could have been better met during a training experience. What could have been done differently to facilitate your learning?
Ensure your journal entry is at least three pages in length but is no longer than four pages in length, is double-spaced, and uses 12- point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins. Section headings/subheadings should be used to help organize your paper. Journal posts should include a full title page including your name, and double-space all submissions.
