Good afternoon, Please see attached 9 articles and documents and 6 videos to assist with writing the paper in APA format. Please follow the rubic format for writing the paper. https://www.mediafire.co

Fall 2024 Lab 1 Rubric – Naturalistic Observation of Laughter

Purposes of the assignment:

  • To demonstrate knowledge of concepts that we have reviewed in class such as hypotheses, descriptive statistics (mean, median, standard deviation), shape of distribution, inter-observer reliability, naturalistic observation, and operational definitions.

  • To demonstrate the ability to paraphrase and summarize empirical journal articles.

  • To demonstrate the ability to interpret jamovi output.

  • To convey an understanding of how an APA-style paper is organized.

  • To demonstrate strong writing quality.

Start w/problem statement – why do this?

And lead into a theory – why do we predict the

variables to be related? Theories explain why

Review of the articles, making sure to use

your own words, focusing on their method and results,

using correct APA style citation

What is your hypothesis based upon the

literature reviewed? Specific testable pred.

about how the groups will differ

Method 11 13 15 17 19 20

Participants – what kind of sample did

we use, how many did we end up w in total,

number per group, other relevant

participant information (who was included vs.

excluded?)

Materials– should be very brief, what did

we need to conduct the study?

Procedure – first explain the method,

Demonstrating knowledge of naturalistic observation,

Then talk about operational definitions,

Then talk about procedure

Results 13.75 16.25 18.75 21.25 23.75 25

First, explain what inter-observer reliability is,

Then report the value obtained for ICC (the stat for

inter-observer reliability). Then explain that we

computed a mean based on the two coders. Then

summarize the mean and median of the dependent

measure, the SD, and whether you think the variable is normally

distributed, positively skewed or negatively skewed.

Discussion/Implications 5 6 7 8 9 10

What did you predict, what were our results,

Link results with the literature,

What did you learn, how might we have

Approached this differently? Any issues with our method?
