Instructions for PPT Slides
Content for Slides:
Note: For all presentations, I suggest that you create an abstract as good practice for condensing and organizing your data. Some basic rules are to limit to 5-6 points of information on a slide and to make the type-font big enough to read.
Title Slide (1 slide)
With your name and the name of the program.
Abstract (1 slide)
With brief, clear statements summarizing your major findings.
Background on Problem (1-2 slides)
This includes the "public health" or "epidemiological" data on the "problem" (e.g. falls, depression, type-2 diabetes), with how many people experience it or live with, as well as symptoms, risk factors, and consequences of the problem if it not treated or managed well.
Program Description and Activities (1-2 slides)
This should include and clearly state more specific objectives, and activities used in the program (e.g. counseling, or exercise sessions), as well as what is actually measured and tested with participants (e.g. increasing strength, flexibility, or range of motion).
Program Evaluation (1-2 slides)
Don't go crazy! But, please show the data and make it clear. Focus on at least two specific objectives and outcomes that showed "significant" improvement. In the Healthy IDEAS evaluation, they showed, for example that: 1) more people felt they had the knowledge and skills to recognize symptoms of a depressive episode and take action to seek help, and 2) they counted how many (%) people felt their symptoms were mild (or none), before and after the program.
Conclusion (1 slide)
Literally, this is another summary, but not the same as the abstract. This is to show and tell viewers, what is most important about the program, in terms of effectiveness or results.
References (1 slide)
Please, please use full references as much as possible, so we can see authors, years, and where the material is available.
These amount to a total of 7 to 10 slides.
