Find & Evaluate Primary, Secondary & Tertiary Sources
In this assignment you're going to draw on the second module of this competency to find and evaluate different types of sources that will be useful answering your research question.
Use this opportunity to conduct preliminary research that will support you as you build towards your final paper. Consider ways that you can refine your research questions or topic, and reflect on what research you will need to find.
Instructions
To complete this milestone, you need to:
Locate and read 2 tertiary, 2 secondary, and 2 primary sources that are relevant to your topic.
Your 2 tertiary sources can be textbooks, websites, guidebooks, or any other relevant tertiary source you can locate.
Your 2 secondary sources should be journal articles
Your 2 primary sources can be any relevant primary source you can locate, including data, interviews, first-hand accounts, etc.
Create a bibliography of your sources using APA 7 style.
Under each source, use 1-2 paragraphs to evaluate the source using the points discussed in 'Evaluating your Sources' as a guide. Explain reading it will impact your thinking on your topic or help you to answer your research question.
What to include in your submission
Your assignment submission should include:
An annotated bibliography in APA 7 style containing 6 sources, each annotated with 1-2 paragraphs evaluating the source and explaining its relevance.
Use the module 'evaluating sources' as a guide to your annotations.
