Recruitment and Retention strategy. Please read attachments.

I chose to do my presentation and final project on a company looking to improve their retention and recruitment strategy.  I chose this strategy because I can closely relate to it.  My current employer has invested millions of dollars into improving how we train employees.  So far the investment has paid off. As we have learned in this class employees are a company's most important asset.  When an employee is excited about coming to work their customer service is better.  When employees know they have a future with the company they are less likely to quit.

My recruitment strategy consists of developing new partnerships with universities. Our partnerships will now consist of paid internships, college credit, and the opportunity to apply for a position with company after graduation. These partnerships will allow the company recruit top talent. We will also offer tuition reimbursement for employees who remain employed with the company for a ten year tenure. Recruiting will now be more focused on getting our company culture and environment out to the public.

My retention strategy consists of mostly revamping the company’s training and development program. Studies show companies that invest in the training of employees are more profitable. We are going to develop a more hands on job training. Our goal is to ensure all employees enter their new position fully trained and confident. A mentorship program will also be implemented to help current employees see all the positions the company has to offer. Sometimes people get so complacent and comfortable in their current position they begin to resent or dislike their job. In efforts to reduce the loss of an employee we want them to see what other careers the company has to offer.
