Explanation of Step 2 in the Process – just looking at this part. The employee has entered the name or phone number and sees that this is a returning customer (YES, below) Using information that comes out of the Customer data base (the disk shape labeled "CUSTOMERS"), the employee says somet hing like, "You usually like to have Ellen cut your hair. What can we do for you today?" and the process continues. If the employee enters the name or phone number and gets nothing back (NO, below), the employee asks for and enters customer information into the CUSTOMER database and the next thing the employee does is say something like "What can we do for you today?" STEP 2 is about what happens in this second scenario. What information (input) would the employee ask for? What would the system do w ith that information? The output would include what is done with that information and what the system would display for the employee after that is done. Name comes back as previous Customer? NO Employee asks for and enters customer information 2 YES Employee welcomes customer back and reminds of last appointment and services provided Customers Employee asks customer what services are needed
