Jackson is a homeless Indian happy and proud walking the streets of Washington with his Indian crew. Everything changes one day Jackson is by himself and on a mission to get back his grandmother’s powwow ravage. On his journey, he came across many people and a good amount of money that he couldn't save. Jackson always thought white folk were bad people but it turned out to be that he was wrong and realized no matter your race there's always good and bad.

As I read this story it showed that everyone disliked the Indians but this was coming from Jackson and he felt everyone hated his culture but while he was telling this he also mentioned he had it good with people for example many restaurants let him use the good bathroom. What I gathered from the society is that everyone just seen him as a homeless man.

A technique in the story was rising action because Jackson had one day to earn a thousand dollars for his grandmother’s ravage and he worked very hard to earn that money but the bad thing was like I said before he wasted the money on alcohol.

You can see many things in this story that make you wonder why but one thing I’ve seen was individual vs self because Jackson had every means of getting the money and was so very close to getting the thousand dollars but the day before Jackson went back to the pawn shop he stopped into a local Indian bar and spent all but five dollars of his money so he was battling himself as an alcoholic.

In the story Jackson said the white man was a thief for stealing the ravage but at the end of the story the white man turned out to be a great guy and basically giving the ravage away to Jackson and losing a lot of money. So, what this story has told me his no matter how bad you think a person’s race is there are still good people that are sincere and willing to help you.

In conclusion, we have found out that no matter the race not all people are bad and Jackson ended up getting his grandmas ravage back. I explain that Jackson battled himself in this story and I stated the two main conflicts of the story which were Jackson getting back his grandmother’s ravage and being discriminated against by the white folk that later we realized that he just felt like he was being discriminated because no one payed much attention to Jackson and his crew but in the end a white man that he thought hated his guts ended up being the man that gave him moral strength.
