Button, D., Harrington, A., & Belan, I. (2014). E-learning & information communication technology (ICT) in nursing education: A review of the literature. Nurse Education Today, 34(10), 1311-1323.

There is need for constant updating of informatics in fields such as nursing so as to help those in the fields to be able to learn and utilize the skills they learn in positive development of children and personal development. This resource is aimed at performing a study spread out across a ten year period identifying the issues which arise and affect both tutors and students in the context of e-learning systems. This study has been significantly the largest change in the field of medicine and nursing education where hospital training was moved to the tertiary sector. Also, the existing differences between computers and systems dealing with informatics depending on their use can prove successful to the users. Technology has also enabled for the creation and use of online data sources and libraries for purposes of referencing and gaining knowledge.

From this reference I will be able to review how technology has been used in developing an online database which can be used by learners and tutors in the field of nursing to gain information.

FernáNdez-LóPez, Á. RodríGuez-FóRtiz, M. J., RodríGuez-Almendros, M. L., & MartíNez-Segura, M. J. (2013). Mobile learning technology based on iOS devices to support students with special education needs. Computers & Education, 61, 77-90.

Recent advancements in technology have assisted in creation of avenues for students with special needs to be able to access equal education opportunities. Mobile applications can be developed for children especially with cognitive disabilities and other difficulties which may arise in the process of learning to help them gain knowledge and education better. These applications can be used as a tool for improvement and betterment of behaviors, helping them interact with the environment and other aspects of holistic growth such as helping in communication. These applications can be designed for Apple iOS devices due to their increased use in the American market however developments can be made to incorporate other platforms. However, there exists a number of applications which have already been implemented and have proven to be successful in helping in positive growth n children.

I intend to use this source to sow how technology can be used to teach children with disabilities and difficulties in learning. Technology can be harnessed and channeled to be used as a tool for education outside the school to help for better growth and development of a child.

Lai, K. W., Khaddage, F., & Knezek, G. (2013). Blending student technology experiences in formal and informal learning. Journal of Computer Assisted Learning, 29(5), 414-425.

There is need for importance to be given to technological advances employed in giving education to students across different levels. Technology can be used as a tool to help in connection of both formal and informal experiences in spheres of learning. This incorporation of technology helps in bridging the gap between the two different types of education. A mobile blended collaborative learning model can be used as a framework where collaboration tools, coordination tools and communication tools can be used in creation of connections which are seamless. These connections can be used in provision of a mechanism for learning which could prove highly efficient and supportive of the process of learning.

I intend to use this resource to show how the framework can be used as a tool for content delivery to students. Also, it can be used as a channel where technology can grow education reception across different levels and groups.

Linn, M. C. (2013). Internet environments for science education. Routledge.

Curriculums in most countries do not give students enough preparation of the material they are about to engage into as they join educational institutions. Most citizens are not too trusting of issues in the educational system and the invention of technologies can help in better understanding of curriculums. This is achievable through the technologies being implemented in different arenas of learning where students can have access to material online and they can skim through, gain familiarity and develop a better understanding beforehand before tackling the course.

This resource helps in giving insight into how technologies can be used in giving a better understanding of the curriculum and helping students make better choices on career goals and courses to take up.

Maier, P., & Warren, A. (2013). Integr@ ting technology in learning and teaching. Routledge.

There is need not to overlook or undermine the effect which technological advances have on education. These advances are continually being analyzed on how they can be employed and incorporated into learning. So far there have been successful incorporations such as where institutions of learning have set up digital schools. These work in that lecturers and students do not have to attend physical classes. Material is posted online and students are able to access the material anywhere irrespective of their location. Therefore, the incorporation of technology in education helps in better time management and flexibility therefore allowing people to do more with their time as compared to traditional education processes.

This resource will help in development of a better understanding of how technology has affected and will affect education. Also, there is going to be more insight gained on the aspects of education which do not have technology incorporated and how they can be developed.

Manca, S., & Ranieri, M. (2013). Is it a tool suitable for learning? A critical review of the literature on Facebook as a technology‐enhanced learning environment. Journal of Computer Assisted Learning, 29(6), 487-504.

Facebook has been long known as a social site however there are studies which prove that it could be harnessed and used as a powerful tool for education. However, there have not been full determinations reached at in analyzing how it can be used as a tool for education. Technology enhanced learning environments have grown rapidly over time and with billions of people being logged on to the social network, it can be used as an avenue for disseminating information. However, there are conflicting opinions between different scholars and researchers with some claiming that it might lead to more harm than good being achieved from its use.

This article can be used in helping prove how social media can be harnessed as a tool for educating people aside it being a tool for connecting people. Facebook is one of the largest social media networks and researchers are trying to establish how they can improve the social network and harness its capabilities and make use of them in the education sector.

Spector, J. M. (2014). Conceptualizing the emerging field of smart learning environments. Smart learning environments, 1(1), 2.

In the past fifty years, there have been significant changes in the learning environments with these changes being facilitated for by the development and emergence of information and communication technologies. Over the years, personal computers, mobile phones and their applications, cloud technologies and the internet have emerged and have led to changes in the system of education. Schools in present day are taking up virtual classes among other means of teaching. Technologies in their evolution for use in schools are usually implemented on a small scale before they are widely accepted by different groups of people in need of the implementations.

I intend to use this reference to show how technology has revolutionized education and changed offering and receiving of education. Technology has enabled for people to learn virtually from different environments and locations globally.
