3. If he loved you he would have shown up on time with flowers. He must not love you.


P1: In order for him to love you, he must bring flowers.

P2: He did not bring flowers.

C: Therefore, he doesn’t love you.


The premises are valid and fall together to support the conclusion. This is a clear deductive argument because premise 1 states that he must bring flowers in order to love you, premise 2 claims that he did not bring flower which wraps the conclusion into that he does not love you because he did not bring flowers.

This isn’t likely to be realistically true but in form this is valid because there is a connection between the premise and conclusion (Hardy, et al, 2015).
