  • A description of job responsibilities or day-to-day tasks: The aim of psychology is to study the minds of human beings (Study.com, n.d). Psychologists conduct research on the same and therefore, helps in understanding the human behaviors, mental health issues as well as the human memory. Psychologists help people through various ways such as offering them counseling (American Psychological Association, 2011). They conduct their researches through experimentation and therefore, through these different methods they assist in promoting safety, ensuring good mental health as well as promoting understanding among people. In addition to these, psychologists also lead either individual or group counseling sessions. To this effect, their job primarily pertains talking to characters and ensuring that they help foster a positive personal and mental health growth. Psychologists focus on the behavioral patterns of a human being’s life as well as certain periods of their life such as adolescence or infancy and the ways these behavioral patterns affect the individual and ways to correct the disorders among other things. Moreover, they help in ensuring the prevention, the diagnosing and treatment of mental health disorders on their given patients.

The Warm-Up Portion

Before entering into the interview, when I met Dr. Blake, I shook her hand and introduced myself. After my self-introduction, I engaged my interviewee in a small talk concerning her profession on an overview perspective, and therefore, through this general discussion concerning the said trade, I was able to slide into the informational interview and ask all the following questions that I had prepared.
