The diversity in the present day world is a fact and a thriving reality. Diversity is inherent in the human societies and communities. The communities are unique and diverse within and without. The diversity pertains to the existing psychological and virtual divergence in the origins, belief systems and cultural values of the people forming a community. The parameters of this diversity in a community also confer the backdrops from which these groups emerge.

This paper will examine the diversity of a certainly given group, how the group handles differences and how these distinctions add up to the strength of that particular group, making it more potent and influential. The significance of this research is formative as it discusses the vitality of the diversity management in organizations, illustrates the affirmative implications, that each uniquely distinct culture has on the organization, whilst reversing their individualities.

The paper will help me in formatting method of existing approaches that were applied in the workplace. In the formation of social groups, respect and integration of cultures are very crucial. It is from respecting other people’s cultures that people learn how to accommodate each other, for instance in a social group, to achieve a common group. In the United States, for instance, there exists social groups that respect cultural diversity and background within them, posturing understanding within such groups, thus peace in the entire community, from a very integral unit, the social group.

The social group is formed with objectives or common interests such as common objectives, accepted roles for each to play, a mode of contact among members of the social group, rules, and regulations, among other related disciplinary measures. All these are implemented to ensure that the social group operates within the accepted norms of the society and that they are not in violation of any set rules or norms in the given society.

In a diverse workforce environment, where mismanagement is prevalent the motivation among the employees is diminished, and the focus on the core objectives and direction towards to the goals of the organization are lacking. The employees in such a setting with their unique race, ethnicity, or religion have distinct qualities and skills as result of different education, age, and experience; are likely to get involved in pointless disagreements, reducing the productivity.

This article will help me in understanding the legal issues involved in diversity are multifaceted. The Laws that have been created, although initially have help in reducing discrimination and increasing the workplace diversity, they also acted as a backlash since although the goal for diversity is common, but the ways implement the strategies and laws to protect the diversity are always conflicting for different departments and organization. (New York City Bar, 2012)

As EEOC has promoted work/life initiatives especially for the caregiving of children and elderly persons, etc., these programs have turned out be another source of discrimination complaints against employers. The equal treatment and non-discriminatory practices enumerated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, entail the equality in terms and conditions of employment, like the implementation of company policies fairly, the benefits and compensations provided etc.

This article will help me in understanding the necessity and impact of creating policies to enforce diversity and managing it well enough for the benefit of the organization and employees is a big challenge The employee assessments and research data available either from outside or inside of the organization is a big resource for the organizations to design, customize and implement diversity management strategies, to expand the advantages of workplace diversity in that particular organization .

The bigger issue, however, is that some companies adopt a diversity policy only to comply with the country’s laws, instead of embracing it and acknowledging it as a strength of their business and creating an acceptance culture in the organization that will make diversities policies a success. And although it may hire diverse employees, certain higher posts were often held or given to let’s say white males.

The organizations need to create diversity in the top management of the organization, as the attitudes towards diversity policies are developed at the top and trickle down to middle and lower groups of employees.
