PSYC 3012 ASSIGNMENT. POWERPOINT

PSYC 3012 Week 3: Assignment

PowerPoint Presentation

PowerPoints can be a fun way to present information. You want to keep a few things in mind when creating a PowerPoint presentation:

  1. Remember that you have an audience for this PowerPoint, so create a professional and easy-to-read presentation. This means keeping your font and font sizes consistent (and not too small), as well as not presenting too much information on one slide. Review the information provided by the Walden Writing Center at http://writingcenter.waldenu.edu/1331.htm

  1. PowerPoint has some great presentation templates that you might use to help create your presentation. The Walden Writing Center has a suggested list of templates at http://writingcenter.waldenu.edu/57.htm

  2. Additionally, Microsoft has put together some information to help students:

    1. Tips for creating an effective presentation found at: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/tips-for-creating-and-delivering-an-effective-presentation-HA010338298.aspx?CTT=1

    1. How to use templates found at: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/what-is-a-powerpoint-template-HA010360893.aspx?CTT=1

  1. You also need to cite all the sources you use in your PowerPoint, similar to the way you would cite sources in a paper. The Walden Writing Center has assistance offered at: http://writingcenter.waldenu.edu/11.htm. For this presentation you will:

    1. Cite resources at the end of the presentation. You will treat your entire presentation as a paper, including citations throughout your slides and then adding a reference list slide at the end of the presentation.

Note that although the Writing Center will also review PowerPoints for appointments, following these suggestions will really help create the most effective presentation possible!
