Volunteer Services Coordinator

 

The Volunteer Services Coordinator at The Non-Profit is responsible for recruiting and training new volunteer and coordinating volunteer schedules.  This position evaluates our existing programs, communicates with different organizations, writes proposals, and markets the program using various social media.  Budget control is also part of this position’s responsibility.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Actively recruit, screen, train, and retain a strong base of volunteers to ensure we have enough to deliver our volunteer programs.

  • Maintain program statistics and evaluate them.  Recommend any changes to enhance programs.

  • Help develop new programs that will benefit the community.

  • Write proposal for new programs.

  • Proactively connect with other organizations in the community to solicit their help in delivering our programs.

  • Use social media to promote programs.

  • Keep website up-to-date.

  • Track spend to budget and advise the manager of budget status.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Very good organizational skills; able to multi-task effectively.

  • Active listener.

  • Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Know how to use social media, specifically Facebook and Twitter.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. 

  • Able to work independently as well as within a larger team.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • 2+ years working in a volunteer capacity.

  • Comfortable using MS Office.

  • Experience giving presentations.

  • Willing to learn.
