Management's Role in the Technology

Technology advancement has help a lot in solving the many problems in healthcare sector all over the world. Recent technological trends such as telemedicine, Optical imagery for diagnosing disease, Electronic health records, Telehealth, Video translation services, and many others have been key factors for improving healthcare sector in many health facilities. Therefore, proper management of these technological factors must be given the first priority so that the healthcare can achieve its goals and objects (Gaimon, 2008) . Managers are supposed to manage technological fundamentals so that the healthcare can understand the value of these technological trends. In addition, healthcare managers should continue to be innovative so as to maintain the value for customers or patients who are in need of these treatments.

Technology trend has direct or indirect impact of impact to the users or other people who are surrounding it. The trends have been found to make health work easier and cheaper to the individuals and also the community. It has enabled the physicians to have close contact with the patient, therefore making them to follow up the patient’s progress even without seeing each other. For example, telemedicine enable the doctor and the patient to communicate easily without necessarily meeting to each other physically. This reduces the costs for transport that would be have incurred by the family of the patient. In Optical imagery for diagnosing disease, the technology helps to take images of internal organs of the body without performing any operation to the patient’s body (Burns, 2012). It has cut down the operational expenses that could be used to cater for the patient and which maybe expensive for the family or the community to support.

Furthermore, these technological trends have a lot benefits to the users and to the healthcare sector. A lot of improvement in terms of quality of services that are performed by these technological trends has been recorded. For example, Optical imagery for diagnosing disease technology do not expose patients to radiation like in x-ray therefore, it keeps them patient safe. Intelligent mobile devices and Telehealth is an online clinic staff that enables the physicians to treat patients through the internet and hence, making doctors to reach the larger part of the community who are in need of clinical services (Devaraj, & Ezra, 2011, April). In addition, Healthcare robots are used to perform surgeries that are very risky to the patient; the technology helps patients to heal faster, experience less pain, reduced blood loss, transfusions and discomfort.

On the other hand, neural engineering has improved the treatments of people with neural or brain function. This engineering has made it possible for neural patients to regain their hearing, brain, mobility, or even sight easily and less expensive.

In conclusion, all technological trends in healthcare are giving positive achievement in how various patients problems are being handled by healthcare sector. Trends have shown that, healthcare can be transformed from one level to another easily without necessary using a lot of resources.
