The Virtues of Critical Thinkers

Premise 1: I have neck, shoulder and back pain every day.

Premise 2: Sleeping wrong can cause neck, shoulder and back pain.

Conclusion: Therefore, neck, shoulder and back pains are miserable but can be treated by doctor.

That is a strong argument of neck, shoulder and back pains. I do have that almost daily but life goes on and it don’t stop me. Just frustrated when doing something simple as carry grocery in, I pay for it later with pain. If it gets too bad I take Tylenol and don’t believe in taking pain medications because they are so addictive so I avoid those. Also, if pain gets too unbearable I can go doctor for a cortisone shot which helps a lot. Some people complained of pain but I’m of one of them, I am very quiet about it. Exercising can help avoid some of the pain but being top heavy don’t help anything. So just have to live with it but can avoid heavy lifting most time.

Premise 1: I am dieting to be healthy.

Premise 2: I am living a healthy lifestyle.

Conclusion: Therefore, dieting makes you healthy by improving your health.

Dieting helps you be healthy by losing weight and prolongs your life. I am doing the Atkins dieting and so far, good plus I have more energy. Before dieting, I would eat breads and sweets and it will slow me down by making me feel sluggish. So, no more breads or sweet although that was always my weakness but am trying to overcome it. That is a daily logic life thing that I make a decision on every day. I eat salads a lot and there are lots of ways you can fix a salad and still eat healthy is one of those daily critical thinking I use daily. I have noticed that as long I eat 2 to 3 servings of vegetables a day, I am not snacking or getting hungry. Eating lots of salads keeps me full and satisfied feeling. Plus, I am doing something for myself so that makes me feel positive. So, when I do get discourage, I ask myself do I want to be healthy or unhealthy. That is a logical critical thinking when dieting. Meal planning ahead of time also helps while dieting too.

Both of these examples are what I battle on every day. I am trying to overcome them. On pain, I try not stress out about anything. For dieting, I am trying stay focus on it no matter what. Both examples are what logical would be. Every day we make decisions in our life that may be logical or not. Doing school work every day is logical instead of not doing it.
