Dunkin Donuts or Dunkin' Donuts LLC is an iconic coffee and bakers franchised company that has been around for quite a while. Based in Canton, Massachusetts. Dunkin' Donuts LLC operates as a subsidiary of Dunkin Brands Group Inc (Bloomberg, 2017). This company has adjusted its strategy from doughnuts to coffee, to keep up with the coffee house specialty trends. Additionally, Dunkin' Donuts also offers various selections of bakery items, sandwiches, wraps, and hot or cold beverages. Due to the range of products, the company has a menu providing all day breakfast and DD Smart menu. In 2012, Dunkin' Donuts launched an application for payment and gifting for iPhone, iPod touch, and Android smartphones (Wikipedia, 2017). the company offers a DD Perk loyaty card, full acess site ( that gives selections of food and beverages while makin suggestions. Additonally, the company is now offering delevery of its products offered.
In concluding this Dunkin Donuts is paired up with Baskin Robbins, under the parent company Dunkin' Donuts Inc. Which now, allows access to two of the most popular brands under one roof; in the majority of locations. The expansion of products has enabled itself to continue competing with businesses like Starbucks, Tim Hortons, and McDonald. Franchising opportunities with Dunkin' Donuts are available in the United States and operate various stores and international shops. Providing just under 12,000 restaurants in over 40 countries worldwide. Leading to Dunkin' Donuts as one of the largest brands in the coffee industry. Historical Overview
Founded in 1948 by William Rosenberg with the name Open Kettle, he started the company with one shop in Quincy where he could bake his donuts and supply them to his clients. He came up with the idea while selling donuts and coffee outside of factories and at construction sites. These locations were exteremly popular for donuts and coffee. In 1950, Rosenberg changed its name to Dunkin’ Donuts. The restaurant was successful, and by 1955 Rosenberg started selling franchises of Dunkin' Donuts to others.
Since then, Dunkin’ Donuts acquired a primary competitor called Mister Donut / Doughnut Connection and became Dunkin Brands Inc. (Incorporated), after acquiring Baskin-Robbins. In March of 2006 Dunkin Brands Inc changed its name to Dunkin' Donuts LLC. Dunkin Donuts has a band of loyal followers first, starting in the Northeast, in 1970 it expanding across the United States, includng proceeding into international markets.
