By giving votes people elect their leaders and representatives this is known as democracy. It was the idea given in the 20th century and was regarded as the most successful one. Due to democracy equality is brought among people. Democratic is similar to democracy it means supporting the principles and concepts of democracy. Democratic leadership on the other is the type of leadership in which in the decision making processes the members of the group show very much involvement and take active part in it and their ideas are considered important and significant. In democratic leadership free flow of ideas and equality among the members of the group are strongly considered and is the main objective of democratic leadership too. Though the final decision in democratic leadership is made by the leader but still all the members of the group are encouraged to present their point of view. These ideas of the members are heard carefully and are given great importance.

Purpose and Objective:

Democratic leadership is a very smooth way of running any organization or team. It encourages people and facilitates the conversation and meeting among the team and its leaders. To change the environment dynamically and quickly the method of democratic leadership works out well there in such circumstances. The main theme of democratic leadership is to bring out the best from the members through their advance ideas. It helps the organization in choosing the best option from many and improves the cause. There are some ways through which democratic leadership can be improved which includes consulting, education, services, advertisement, designs and marketing. If the democratic leadership fails to provide these facilities then it cannot work out and hence the organization fails to over grow.

Effectiveness of democratic leadership:

To keep the leadership effective among the members the first thing that should be given importance must be the respect. The members who present their ideas do it with courage then it is own the leaders to respect their ideas even if they are not liked by them. The n help the organization a lot and if they miss it out, then they would be in trouble. Communication between the leaders and the members is yet another important thing which is and should be given great importance. Successful leadership results are given by the managers through the effectiveness of democratic leadership. The ability which a manager has to understand the things present in his surroundings including the employees and their work are the things which strongly rely and depend upon the smooth and effective running of the organization. This type of leadership which is democratic leadership is best for those where the members of the team has the ability of making decisions and implementing them. Central coordination in some circumstances is not required then particularly at those circumstances democratic leadership proves to be quite beneficial.

Advantages of Democratic Leadership:

Democratic leadership has a huge number of advantages and among those one of its biggest advantage is that it is that type of leadership which can fir in almost all types of businesses. Every business needs maintenance and for that purpose needs employees who are strong in decision making. Democratic leadership enhances the abilities of the workers to take strong decisions which can support them. It creates a friendly environment among the leaders and the employees which helps in developing a creative environment. The employees realise their worth and work hard and try their best to increase the utility of the organization. Through this both the organization and the employees are benefited. Democratic leadership helps in building a strong team. The employees and the leaders work as a team and together work for the betterment of the organization. As in democratic leadership every opinion is given strong consideration therefore the honesty and collaboration of the employees are very important. If the employees work with full enthusiasm and determination then this would benefit both the employees and their leaders. As in democratic leadership all the members work as a team then they have more options of solving the problems with ease and comfort and all the troubles and hurdles that come across in their way are handled easily.

Disadvantages of Democratic Leadership:

Everything that has advantages has disadvantages too. Just like that democratic leadership has some disadvantages too though they do not lower down its significance but still these disadvantages can overcome. One of the biggest disadvantage of democratic leadership is that it is time consuming. A lot of time is consumed while calling off for a meeting and then listening to the ideas of the worker and after that the best idea is considered and finally a decision is made. In this process a lot of time is consumed and the decision is made after a lot of time. Another disadvantage of democratic leadership is that only one idea is chosen by the leaders whereas others are rejected. The employees whose ideas were rejected expected their idea to be implemented. In this regard the leaders apologize other workers. In this way the democratic leadership becomes apologetic.

Conclusion:

Democratic leadership is helpful in many ways it can be proved more beneficial if some of the points which impacts which harm its significance are overcome. The main objective of democratic leadership is to provide equality among the members if the leaders fail to do so then the smooth running of the organization is merely impossible. The objectives of the democratic leadership must be fulfilled by the leaders, if it happens then it proves to be beneficial for both the leaders and the employees.
