Law school personal statement

While working for USCIS as an immigration officer, I have enjoyed many opportunities. I

have realized that I’m experienced team player, bringing enthusiasm and energy into group

efforts with the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion. I have researched and analyze

legal information in order to apply appropriate laws and procedures. I have the ability to

articulate information effectively both orally and in writing with people from diverse

backgrounds. I was able Identify and pursue immigration benefit fraud. I Analyzing local,

regional, and national policies and procedures related to immigration benefit fraud. I also

conducted interviews and investigations regarding potential fraud and I Prepared reports based

on my analyses that articulate findings and proposed future recommendations.

Before working for USCIS, I studied criminal Justice administration. That’s the moment I

started developing interest in the law. Hands-on experiences in the lab, field work across the

state, and lectures from leading researchers engaged my mind and caught my interest.

Graduating from my University in October 2008 in W. Virginia, studying criminal I moved to

San Diego to continue my Military career as a marine reservist and to take professional

development courses. While I developed both personally and academically. At this point, a new

door opened, one filled with opportunities, and I began contemplating the field of business in

Finance arena. After making this life altering decision the question at the forefront of my mind

was: How do I achieve this goal? When I began taking my MBA courses at a higher university in

Finance, but I was always passionate about Law, that explains the reason why I pursued an

undergraduate education in criminal Justice administration and finally got a job as an

immigration officer.

In spite of the aforementioned, there are several reasons why I wish to study law at Florida

Coastal School of law and become an Immigration Attorney. I have a fundamental belief in the

legal system and its ability to produce justice within our society. My goal is to concentrate in

immigration because of the vast knowledge I have gained adjudicating immigration petitions as

an immigration officer. In perspective, I also wish to study the law because of the academic

challenge. I love the intellectual engagement of learning and exploring different perspectives. I

know that law school will be challenging and I hope to excel as a law student. I was attracted to

Florida Coastal School of law because it is fully approved by ABA-It is an accredited institution

whose culturally diverse students graduate practice-ready through hard work and award-winning.

It’s ongoing practical training is taught by supportive and experienced full-time professors and

the school is also veterans friendly. In addition to a strong core curriculum, Florida Coastal

School of law Coastal Law has been recognized by The National Jurist magazine in its honor roll

of best law schools for practical training and more so it operates on rolling admissions, and

enrollment in our Full-Time JD Program is available in the fall, spring and summer which makes

it very flexible. The learning process emphasizes not only legal theory but also practical skills

training in a diverse community of engaged thinkers which is appealing. Earning academic credit

for performing legal work and engaging in activities that allow students to apply what they’ve

learned in the classroom to real-world legal issues is another attraction. Last but not the least is

flexible scheduling making it possible for those with continuing business and family

responsibilities to meet their obligations while obtaining a legal education. As a marine war

veteran I will be delighted if I can be admitted because my goal is to continue serving the society

and this wonderful country.

Sincerely,
