Research Proposal on Gender Dysphoria

Gender Dysphoria (GD) is a psychological disorder in which an individual identifies with the opposite gender of the one they were born with. People with this disorder do not feel comfortable in their own skin will only feel who once they no longer feel trap inside their body. In this paper, I will discuss how GD is assessed and treated in children vs. adults. This disorder is relevant to abnormal psychology because it deals with the mental and behavioral function of a person that is not normal. The effects of GD can also lead to the presence of other abnormal behavior due to the psychological strain the disorder can have on a person.
