Final Assignment Guidelines

The final assignment is to answer any three questions from the textbook (at the end of each chapter, under ‘Exercises’) and compare them with someone else’s answers outside of this class. You will write both of your answers down (you can paraphrase the other person’s answers) and reflect on how they compare with each other in 3-5 pages. This activity is worth 100 points.

You will begin with a brief introduction on which themes were of interest to you throughout the course so far and why you focused on the specific questions of choice. They can be any combination of questions from any chapter(s) in the textbook. You should summarize the questions, answer them based on your own opinion, and ask them to someone else for comparison. Each answer should be around a page on average in narrative form, and should include a reflection on how they compared to each other. In the conclusion, you will discuss how you can apply this course to your major and/or career goals, providing an overall assessment of your experience with diversity, social justice, and language use.

*Remember: A minimum of three full pages, 12-pt. Times New Roman font, One inch margins, No excessive spacing, black ink, stapled, and page numbers. This is due in hardcopy format BY Wednesday, April 26th in class—I will not accept late papers! You can always turn it in ahead of time and I am happy to look at drafts during office hours if needed. Good luck!
