Introduction

The business problem can be defined as the hindrance to a proper breakthrough in the sector. They are various types of problems that affect business, slowing the progress and the productivity. The article analysis is a research that was conducted on Qatar airways due to the recent decline in the productivity. Qatar airways is a very big company that is located in the Middle East and has improved the region by the provision of employment to the residents and the region in general (Raines, S. 2013). The Recent month the company started to stagnate, and a group of some students decided to conduct a research and identify what the root source of the issue to the problem is. Five days were spent on the company interviewing employees the management and going through the records.

After conducting the research, the team discovered that in that recent month there was a huge staff turnover, contradicting answers and some sections were working with less staff than others. Comparing the results obtained the team concluded that the main problem that is affecting Qatar airways is internal conflict. Staff turnover indicates that the management and the staff are not moving in the same direction and recruiting new staff they take the time to adjust to the company protocols, therefore before they start being productive a lot of time is wasted. Imbalance of the staff is still another indicator since this brings the feeling that some are favored and results to an internal division within the company. Another issue is the company employing of people from different background this at a time can result to tribalism widening the gap in the society, it was noted by how staff group forms a group within the same tribal lines (Raines, S. 2013).

Varying of answers from the staff showed there was something that they were covering from within the institution. This proved that it was something that was affecting the institution for a long time. Comparing productivity that the company was experiencing both before and during the decline showed a big difference, suggesting there was a problem.

After identifying the problem, the team came up with clearly defined solutions to deal with the problems. Since the problem was identified, it is easy to eradicate and deal with (Wallensteen, p.2012). The following are some of the recommendations:

.

  1. Considering and evaluating employee’s emotional reaction. When the staff develops a strong emotional response to the difference in the workplace, the result can be a dispute. The mechanism of the dispute can even lead to fight or tension, and their general thinking takes the second spot. For a company to avoid such a scenario, the concerned party needs to be addressed once an issue is identified. The issues should be addressed to avoid any further disruptions within the workplace.

  2. Take into consideration of all the views of the stakeholders who are involved in the productivity of the company. A general fact of life is that no human likes the idea of being in the wrong, so to avoid only the victimization of one side it is best to hold dialogue in making a decision over an issue. The one on the wrong quickly realizes the mistake they have made and attempts to rectify the situation. This makes the leadership of the company stronger since everyone was involved in decision-making and knows what is expected of them.

  3. Dig deep to the causes that are leading to the rise of the issue. In some cases, the conflict may be vested at different levels of the ground or management. Identify where the problems are coming from. In our case study, the company needs to find where the problems are originating from.

  4. All the stakeholders are comfortable with whom they are working with. Staff acceptance of the person they are working with and respecting the differences within the individual is crucial. Understanding others helps in being familiar with how they approach different tasks, and bonds a strong team. The company management needs to enlighten all employees on the issue of respect and values of others culture. Once the company achieves this, even the issue of tribalism is eradicated.

Conclusion

The team clearly laid claims that Qatar airways, which is one of the biggest company in the Middle East, was experiencing internal conflict within the management and staff. The conflict results in poor productivity since they never worked as a team to achieve the goals set. After the team identifies the problems and comes up with solutions, they can employ to deal with the issue.
