The purpose of this assignment is to gain solid understanding of the contracting process. What external influences impact procurement and risk management? What are conflict resolution strategies that a project manager may need when issues arise with the contractor? Once a project plan is baselined, how do you manage and track change requests that occur during the project? How the project manager does reported to all levels of the organization to ensure each understands and know what action(s) are required? Project managers must be able to discern when it is necessary to raise the issue to management to get assistance and when it is unnecessary. Understanding these processes will assist project managers in making such judgements.
