Race and Ethnicity Paper about movie

Section 1 Perform a close analysis of a scene from your chosen film. Discuss the ways in which it uses mise-en-scène, camera angles, camera movement, sounds, and other visual / aural information to communicate and influence audience perceptions of race and / or ethnicity. This shouldn’t require outside research but refer to the provided Film Vocabulary sheet and relevant course content to help as you watch the film, choose, discuss, and write about a scene and how it uses various visual devices to portray the race(s) or ethnic group(s).

Section 2 (requires research) Discuss film in terms of the time it was made via specific historical references. How might the film reflect its time in terms of its racial / ethnic representations?

Section 3 (requires research) The makers of the film and how this may either hinder or encourage accurate racial / ethnic representation.

Unacceptable sources: 1) Any website with open-source content providers (IMDb, Wikipedia, etc.) 2) Movie reviews 3) Popular Journals / periodicals (ex. magazine articles) intended to entertain large audience. One sign that a piece of writing is unacceptable is if there are no footnotes or endnotes listed to indicate sources.
