An analysis of developed system (based on the proposal)

Proposal:

The Business

Our business is an equipment management systems provider. Our company would sort of resemble some of the products and services that Reynolds and Reynolds sell to Car dealerships. Our business would focus more on organizations that need to manage a lot of equipment such as construction companies lending out tools, or schools managing student and teacher resources. Our business would provide organizations check-in/check-out solution to manage and track where its physical resources are. Our company, like Square Inc., which provides solutions focused at small and medium sized businesses would also provide to these types of companies . At this size businesses may not have the resources to establish an equipment management system of their own and could utilize our system. The businesses would provide a few hardware and software in a broad solution that would be able to work for many situations in which a company might use it.

Swot Analysis

One key advantages that our company possesses is that we are very broad and can be an enormous help to many industries. Another key advantage is that we are the only company using a flat surface sticker to register where items are. Weaknesses are that companies/schools/ or even a another industry can manually put in the information. Another weakness is that we have competitors that do similar things such as find my iPhone, tile, and other systems that track items. We also only know who registers the item out, not the exact location.

Business Problem

Our company’s goal is to see a dismissal in lost items and also stolen items. By having two check in points, it puts liability on the person who registered the item out. This problem exists in construction companies and schools. If we are talking about a construction company's, tools are being taken out of the warehouse everyday. With having hundreds of tools taken out everyday items get lost or stolen. Our product will fix this problem by making the person who registered it out liable for that item. There are huge impacts of the problem of lost items and theft. It first cost money to replace the item. This can lead to such a problem that a construction company puts insurance on their machines or tools which causes the company to lose money. Lost items/ stolen items can also lead to blaming employees that actually was not their fault, which can ultimately lead to a fired employee. Several companies choose to record their items going in and out manually, which can be time consuming and human error. Other companies purchase insurance for their items. Also, other companies have trackers on their items, but they are usually big and expensive. If a company adapts our product then they will see an easy way to record who has the item and who is liable for taking out the item. It will eliminate lost items and stolen items.

Value Proposition

Our information system would help by allowing businesses to keep track of their equipment, tools, and other materials they have. In case something gets stolen or is missing, that business or organization would track it and know exactly where to find it. There are some issues a business would address before implementing our system. One might be that they have too much inventory to keep track of and they are worried that something might go missing or is misplaced. Another issue they could address is having previous equipment, tools, or other important materials stolen and they want to catch any potential criminals while getting their business materials back.
