Ethics and Social Responsibility of Corporations

According to “Investopedia” (2017) “Corporations are used throughout the world

to operate all kinds of businesses”. Some Corporations provide services and

some corporations provide goods. In some of these case corporations hold

power that could affect the livelihood of consumers. As with most situations

with power comes responsibilities. The writers of this informational paper will

address the ethical decision and the social responsibility related to this decision

for a well-known retailer. This retailer is the Macy’s department store chain. The

decision in question is: Macy’s has made a decision for its on-line department to

target a certain level of income consume. They want to adjust the qualification

requirements so low income applicants can be approved for online only credit

cards. There are numerous ethical decisions associated with this decision.
