Identification of Topic

The topic that was selected for this project is Strategic Planning, performance improvements, and information systems are interrelated and fundamental to the delivery of quality health care. The above topic was selected with the aim of showing why healthcare professional managers need to be strategic or know the concept of strategic planning in their day to day activities. They ought to know how these plans are formulated and the way of linking them to performance improvements. They are the aspect of an information system that inherently becomes inevitable within the present medical profession. All the fields are embracing technology in their operations, and the healthcare industry cannot be left behind. The above three concepts tend to form the core function of any manager within the medical industry. In other words, all managers have to be conversant with that for one to even ever imagine of calling himself/herself a manager in this field. Based on the above the paper provides tghe basic concept that are required for a manager running a healthcare facility for efficient delivery of the services.

Project Outline

a. Introduction: The section will indentify the topic in general and how it is related to the medical industry. The scope of strategic planning, performance management and information and technology will be discussed at this point.

b. Statement of the problem: The part will provide the statement of the problem by stating what that is and how it affects the medical industry and how it will be beneficial to tackle the same.

b. Definition of Terms: All terms used in the research that may have a different meaning from the common usage will be defined such as what are strategic planning, performance measurements and information and technology applicable in the medical field.

C. Theoretical Framework: On this part, the paper will focus on providing the research concepts that are contained in these areas. Issues of various models of strategic management will be discussed. Factors that affect the choice of strategic plan will include, and time, budget, and existence of alternatives among others will be analyzed. On the issue of performance measures, the paper will focus on both the nonfinancial performance actions that exist in the medical industry. There is also the issue of financial performance measures within the healthcare industry such as how profitable a medical facility in its quest to attain the desired goals. Healthcare institutions need to set Key Performance Indicators in their operations. The key performance indicators will be to individual employees and organization in general. On information and technology, it will be vital to look at vital role IT plays, methods used to protect data in the healthcare industry and technical competencies required for one to efficiently operate.

d. Methodology section: the research will be done through a qualitative analysis approach

e. Presentation and analysis: The article will provide all the relevant information that will be obtained from the qualitative analysis.

f. Conclusion and recommendation: it will offer a summary of the research in a whole and show which areas of information and technology, strategic planning and performance measurements that will be applicable in the Healthcare Industry.
